Nada Aly ‘24
Hey everyone! My name is Nada Aly, and I live in Paterson, NJ, though I hail from Giza, Egypt. I’m currently pursuing a Neuroscience major with an Anthropology minor. On-campus, I’m involved with the Chesick office as an FLI student leader, the OAR as an Outreach and Community-Building intern, and the Haverford Questbridge Chapter President from Fall ‘21 - Fall ‘22. Outside of academics, I enjoy journaling, writing poems and short stories, spending time with friends, and I’ve recently created a small reading club with some of my friends. Some of my favorite interests include the original Star Wars trilogy, the Percy Jackson series, dancing, and browsing random Wikipedia entries. I look forward to meeting all of you and spending First-In + Horizons together!

I work as a communications intern at the Center for Gender Resources and Sexual Education. This summer I am working with two other students on a startup to create more affordable and sustainable prosthetic socks through the Haverford Innovations Program. I like to learn languages, play ukulele, dance, and draw in my free time. I have been involved in various offices around campus and am here if you have any questions. I can't wait to get to know you and help you navigate Haverford.

Hello! My name is Yuriko (she/her). I’m a rising sophomore, interested in declaring a double major in Anthropology/Asian American Studies and a minor in Japanese. My experience growing up in Chinatown, Queens (NYC) deeply influences my AAPI activism, which shows up in my work with the Woori Center, the Pan Asian Resource Center, and other Asian-American orgs on and off campus. One day, I’d like to pursue either a PhD in Anthropology or work in immigration law. Some hats I wear on campus include Chesick Leader, Writing Center peer tutor, Customs Committee, and Student Council Officer of Multiculturalism. My favorite artists are Beabadoobee, Amy Winehouse, TWICE, and Jhene Aiko; in my free time I enjoy cooking, working out, and making art. I can't wait to get to know everyone! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about writing, academics, getting involved on campus, or even to introduce yourself~

Hey everyone! I’m Jalexie Ureña (she/hers) and I’m a Dominican from Brooklyn, New York. I’m hoping to major in Psychology with potential minors in EALC (hoping to study abroad in Korea!) and English. Right now, my goal is to become a therapist as well as a published author/poet. Cooking/culinary arts is a big hobby of mine, along with writing movie reviews, short stories, and of course poetry. I can also be caught playing the occasional sudoku or nonogram to discover new strategies. On campus, I participate in ALAS, BSL, KCC, and COCO (all cultural clubs haha) and have had jobs in one of the schools psych labs, at founders hall, and off-campus with Bethel academy through community work-study. Off campus, I love trying different restaurants and going on walks in Ardmore. Chesick, and more specifically Horizons, played a big role in my transition to college and finding my place at Haverford, so I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully providing the same welcoming environment! Feel free to reach out with any questions, or just to talk!

Yehyun Song ‘25
Hello~ My name is Yehyun Song (He/Him/His) and I am part of the Class of 2025! I am originally from South Korea and my family emigrated to America when I was 5 years old. Whether it be immigration law or civil rights advocacy, I plan to engage with and nurture my passions by majoring in Political Science and concentrating on Peace, Justice & Human Rights. Last year, I have been part of the Students’ Council as the First Year Representative, Looney Tunes Acapella group, Political Science Student Group (PSSG), Grace Covenant Church, InterVarsity, and Korean Culture Club (KCC). It is my hope to continue serving and uplifting the Haverford student body and community. In my free time, I enjoy writing and singing songs, playing guitar, investing in fashion and refining my style, and cooking Korean food. As my Chesick FLI Student Leaders have been such sources of comfort, wisdom, and joy, I too hope to be someone who can help you navigate your unique and special journey at Haverford.
Please feel free to reach out to me with your burning questions!
