You can find full information at our Family and Friends webpage.
First-Year Students
Arriving on Campus
Please Note: Updated information for the Class of 2025 will be available in early June 2021.
We are so excited to welcome you to the Haverford community!
In order to minimize the potential for COVID-19 transmission, new (first year and transfer) students may bring up to (but no more than) 2 adults with them on their designated move-in day. Everyone will be asked to socially distance and wear masks. Please see below for virtual programming designed to welcome the families and friends of new students.
Early Arrivals and First Year Move-In:
Residential Life will be communicating details about staggered move-in for the groups listed.
- August 18–August 19, 2020
-
First year students participating in ISO (both U.S. citizens and F1 visa holders)
Per CDC guidelines, all students traveling from residences abroad will need to be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival on campus and will need to quarantine and symptom self-monitor for 14 days. Guidance regarding quarantine will be provided closer to the date of arrival. These arrival dates have been selected so that students will be finished with quarantine by the start of classes, barring any complications.
- August 25, 2020
- Horizons participants
- August 29, 2020
- Pre-season athletes (pending a Centennial Conference decision)
- August 30–September 2, 2020
- All FYs not arriving for a pre-orientation / pre-season program
PLEASE NOTE: Incoming FY students not participating in ISO, Horizons, or pre-season athletics will be assigned a move-in date. Please do not plan travel arrangements until you hear from Residential Life!

Transportation
For students traveling alone, it is helpful to have a print out of the Haverford Campus Map. Taxi fare from Philadelphia airport to Haverford College is approximately $45, and the trip takes about 30 minutes. The service is available through the Information Desk at the airport near the baggage claim area from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. Train service to a station near Haverford's campus is also available through SEPTA.

We strongly encourage all students to arrive during the registration hours. Lunch is provided to new students and their families, and a program for parents begins at 1 p.m. We suggest printing out Haverford’s campus map and bringing it with you when you arrive.
Questions? Contact Dean Glanzer (kglanzer@haverford.edu).
Early & Late Arrivals
If you have not been pre-approved to arrive early, arrive on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Arriving after 4 p.m.? Inform Dean Katrina Glanzer—your room key and OneCard will be available at the Campus Safety Office.
Purchasing Travel
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we encourage students to opt for flexible tickets when purchasing travel on airlines, trains, or buses so that you may make changes to the date and time of your trip before departure with no additional fees.
