The New Student Check-In process includes verifying health records, satisfying student accounts, picking up room keys, and receiving student identification cards.

We strongly encourage all students to arrive during the registration hours. Lunch is provided to new students and their families. We suggest printing out Haverford’s campus map and bringing it with you when you arrive.

Early & Late Arrivals

If you have not been pre-approved to arrive early, arrive on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Arriving after 4 p.m.? Contact hc-reslife [at] haverford.edu — your room key and OneCard will be available at the Campus Safety Office.

  • International Students

First year international students arriving on campus for the first time will participate in International Student Orientation (ISO). ISO participants include F-1 visa holders and U.S. citizens living abroad. ISO is independent of Customs Week and will not conflict with those events.

ISO is scheduled for August 19-24, 2022. ISO move-in date will be on August 19. Students who received an invitation to ISO should complete the ISO Registration form to confirm their attendance. The deadline for registration is July 8, 2022. Students are strongly discouraged from making travel plans before they receive their F-1 visa.

The ISSO office will regularly communicate with all students invited to participate in ISO throughout the summer and leading up to their arrival on campus. All logistical information and instructions will be emailed directly to participants.

More information is available on our International Student Orientation page. If you have any questions, please contact Natasha Weisz.

  • Late Arrivals & Unexpected Delays

We strongly encourage all students to arrive during the registration hours on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, however, if you must arrive after registration closes, please notify the Office of Residential Life (610-896-1298 or hc-reslife [at] haverford.edu) before 4 p.m. on August 24, 2022, so that arrangements can be made to leave the student’s room key at Campus Safety and to notify their Customs group to expect a late arrival.

    Unexpected Delay

If a last minute emergency creates an unexpected delay on arrival day, please notify the Office of Residential Life (hc-reslife [at] haverford.edu or 610-896-1298). After 4 p.m., please leave a message with Campus Safety at (610) 896-1111.

  • Family and Friends Orientation

Parents, join Haverford College for Family Orientation Week, taking place through late July via email. The program is an opportunity for all families in the Class of 2026 to interface with the College over the summer, virtually meet community members, and learn more about the services that will be available for your student while attending Haverford. • Customs

Customs is Haverford College's First-Year Experience program, which includes a five-day orientation immediately preceding the fall semester. This orientation week, called ‘Customs Week’, is a great opportunity to get to know your hall-mates and start building a community in your new home. But it doesn’t end there! The Customs experience is designed to give first years the resources needed to thrive at Haverford. This includes helping them become acclimated to Haverford resources, becoming more aware of their own identity and the different identities that are represented at Haverford, as well as helping them to understand the community values at Haverford and in the Honor Code. To help in this process, each group of first years is assigned two Residential Student Liaisons / Customs People that will guide them throughout the first year.

Customs Week begins Wednesday, August 24, 2022 and continues through Monday, August 29, 2022. First-Years are expected to participate in all aspects of the Customs Program throughout the week.
