Varsity Athlete Requirements
Please Note: Updated information for the Class of 2025 will be available in early June 2021.
Haverford College sponsors the following varsity sports: M/W Soccer, Field Hockey, Volleyball, M/W Cross Country, M/W Basketball, M/W Squash, M/W Fencing, M/W Track & Field, M/W Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball, M/W Tennis, and Cricket.
Additional information about these requirements will be sent out through the head coaches of each of our sports.
Requirements include:
- All forms required by Haverford College's Health Services
Note: Your Physical Exam must have been done after February 1, 2020 in accordance with the NCAA's requirements for varsity athletes. - Sickle Cell Requirement
This is a 2-Part NCAA requirement that Haverford College requires from all of its varsity athletes. Complete the educational portion by logging in to Moodle using your Haverford username and password. Be sure to advance all the way through the class until you see confirmation that it is complete. Upload either a blood test confirming your Sickle Cell status or the waiver found in the Moodle class to your HaverHealth Portal. In many cases this testing has been done at birth and results should be available via the hospital or pediatrician. - ImPACT Baseline Test
ImPACT is a software program that Haverford College subscribes to in order to assist in our management of sports-related concussions that are suffered by our student-athletes. By completing a baseline test prior to an injury, we will be best able to facilitate your return to play/participation should you suffer a concussion during your career at Haverford College. Learn more about ImPACT. A Test Code will be sent to the Haverford email account of incoming students who have been in contact with the coach of their respective varsity sport. - Athletics Orthopedic History Form
This form should be completed by every First-Year that plans to try out for a varsity sport at Haverford College. It will be sent to the Haverford email account of all incoming First-Years by the Head Athletic Trainer. Once completed, it should be uploaded into the HaverHealth Portal for review.
Deadline: August 1, 2020
All requirements for varsity athletes should be completed by August 1, 2020. Failure to meet this deadline could result in a delay in the student-athlete’s participation.
