Direct costs are college expenses that are billed by the Student Accounts Office and will appear on any invoice sent to the student. Indirect costs are college expenses not billed by the College, but are considered to be legitimate college expenses. They are included in financial aid budgets to provide a more accurate measure of a student’s expenses when determining financial need.

A modest travel offset is added to the financial aid budgets for students who live within the contiguous United States but outside a 300-mile radius of the College. No allowance is made for travel from a foreign country.
