Ongoing Group Therapy
Group therapy at CAPS is a supportive space where students can, in the "here-and-now," explore difficult questions or issues in their lives; including, but not limited to, interpersonal relationships, anxiety, depression, loss, and a yearning for community. Group therapy offers a meaningful and unique chance to improve self-understanding, learn from others who may have similar (or different!) life stories, and practice social and emotional skills. Students who participate in group therapy benefit from the combined care and support of CAPS co-leaders and other members of the group. It is possible to participate in only group therapy or choose to supplement it with simultaneous sessions with an individual counselor.
To join a group, simply fill out the appointment request form to indicate your interest. From there, you will have an individual informational meeting with the group leader to get to know you, answer any questions, and determine whether group therapy is a good fit at this time. For any other questions about group therapy, reach out to Jon Krigel, the Group Therapy Coordinator, at jkrigel [at] haverford.edu.
