Funding and Co-Sponsorship
Event Co-Sponsorship
Student organizations, campus offices/departments/divisions may request co-sponsorship for community programs. The purpose of co-sponsorship is to provide thought partnership, event planning guidance, or funding support for programs that create a vibrant and inclusive environment.

Student Initiative Fund
Provide support for student initiatives that center the experiences of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and/or FLI (first-generation and/or low-income) students. The funding requests may include, but limited to, existing, ongoing, and/or innovative community building programs, social justice project development, community education, cultural experience, and peer engagement.

Student Diversity, Equity, and Access (SDEA) Funding
The Student Diversity, Equity, and Access (SDEA) team at Haverford College is committed to fostering an inclusive community that values diversity and equity. We offer funding opportunities to support student-initiated projects, events, and heritage month celebrations that align with our mission to cultivate an inclusive, participatory, and equitable environment where students can be their true selves

Mini Grant Fund
Provide mini-grants, in the amount of $50 to $250 for individuals and $250 to $500 for groups per academic year, as a means to support personal and/or communal initiatives that explore new relationships, work across lines of difference, and towards collective partnership among Haverford students, staff, and faculty that are anti-racist, anti-bias, and align with IDEA and SDEA's mission and aspirations.

THRIVE Fund
Provide support for campus-wide anti-racism and anti-bias efforts including but not limited to facilitator training, resource materials, curriculum development, education, and programming for faculty, students, and staff.

Honoring Our Roots Fund
Provide support for events/opportunities that: (1) educate/inform Haverford's communities about the culture or heritage of the month for which you are seeking funds, (2) incorporate a campus-wide component, i.e. you can create a social media campaign for the campus while hosting a closed in-person event or trip, and (3) Include partnerships/collaborations with other student groups in Haverford.

LIFTFAR Emergency Fund and Opportunity Fund
Funding for incidental and unanticipated expenditures that occur during the academic year. Some examples of expenses that can be covered by this fund include, but are not limited to: expenses associated with emergency medical, dental, and vision procedures; unanticipated trips home due to a family emergency; funding to repair or replace a laptop or other technology necessary for coursework.

LIFTFAR Opportunity Fund
Funding to support on or off-campus professional development. Some examples of expenses that can be covered by this fund include, but are not limited to: various fees related to postgraduate opportunities (e.g., standardized testing and application fees, travel for interviews); travel and accommodations for a conference or internship related to the student’s field of study; business attire for job interviews.

Quaker and Religious Life Fund
The Quaker Affairs Office is budgeting about $1,000 for student grants. The size of the grant offered will vary based on the needs of the project, but we are anticipating offering grants for anywhere between $25-$400. Our emphasis will be on grants in the $150-$200 range and smaller grants of $25-$50. We will also have a separate fund for transportation to off-campus events and a supply of SEPTA tokens/tickets on hand.

- Application process: wsulliva [at] haverford.edu (Email Walter Hjelt Sullivan). Examples for funding requests include meals for the Muslim Student Association, Passover, Conferences (Rufus Jones Fund).
Transportation Reimbursement
Reimbursement for students who incurred travel costs on individual service projects. Reimbursement is for public transportation or mileage only. Ride-share services can be reimbursed in the amount of an equivalent public transportation fare, or if there were 3 or more students in the vehicle, can be refunded the full amount (please include student names in request). Reimbursements cannot be processed without receipts.
