Haverford is consistently considered among the top academic institutions in the country.

Our rigorous academic program focuses on individual growth, intellectual exploration, and pushing the boundaries of each discipline. Most classes are taught seminar style with an emphasis on discussion and debate.

Students have access to a tremendous intellectual community.

As a Haverford student, you are free to take classes at Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore Colleges, and the University of Pennsylvania offers a 4 + 1 engineering program that grants a B.S. from Haverford and a masters from Penn in just 5 years

The Haverford College Libraries act as a locus of intellectual activity supporting the teaching, research and learning needs of the Haverford community. Students collaborate in the Astronomy Library inside of Strawbridge Observatory.

Our exams are unproctored – we trust our students to adhere to the Honor Code.

The Honor Code – a philosophy of trust, concern, and respect – guides our entire campus community. Other reflections of the Honor Code include the absence of RAs in dorms, 24-hour lab access, and the lack of an admission enrollment deposit.

Aubree Penney HC '13 speaks during plenary.

Students have a strong voice in the College's operations.

Students are the heart and soul of Haverford, and as such they play a major role in all decisions. Students are involved in hiring decisions, sit on administrative committees, and head events and organizations.

Aubree Penney HC '13 speaks during a pro-con debate on a resolution regarding environmentalism and the Honor Code at Spring Plenary at Haverford College on Sunday evening, February 19, 2012.

We strive to make Haverford's education accessible regardless of a family's ability to pay.

Haverford has a need-blind admission policy and meets the full demonstrated need of all admitted students. Haverford is also committed to minimizing debt upon graduation, including a no-loans policy for students with family income below $60,000/year.
