Academic Year
We hire Digital Scholarship assistants during the academic year to work on a variety of DS projects. These positions are for 6-8 hours per week with flexible work hours. We complete most hiring at the start of the academic year (positions usually post the week or two before the fall semester begins) with smaller-scale hiring occurring at the start of the spring term. If you are interested, it’s best to apply early.
We currently have 12 students working on projects such as The Bridge, Ticha, CRIM, The Global Terrorism Research Project, the Cope Evans project, and Quakers and Mental Health. DS assistants also provide support for faculty OERs, smaller-scale class projects, and various library-sponsored events during the academic year. Typically, students have one primary project placement with opportunities to cross-train on another project. Students are also provided with paid professional development time (up to 1 hour per week) to work on a project of their choosing.
Application information:
- When: 1 week before the start of the semester-the first week of the semester
- Apply on the CCPA Job Board
- Application materials: application form, optional cover letter/resume
- Check back for Fall 2024 openings
Summer Internships
We support a variety of on-site summer internship opportunities in DS. During these 10-week internships, students gain hands-on web development experience working in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Occasionally, faculty also hire summer research assistants to work on their projects over the summer.
All digital scholarship internship opportunities for the summer have been filled.
Digital Scholarship Fellows
This program offers students a unique opportunity to work with technology experts from Digital Scholarship and research scholars from Special Collections to develop the skills they’ll need to utilize digital technologies in future research and thesis projects.
