Student Research Stipends
Research Stipends foster rigorous and independent scholarship in the arts and humanities that builds on and expands a student’s academic interests. Haverford students and Tri-Co students majoring at Haverford are eligible to apply and may apply for funding at any time while enrolled at the College.
The Research Stipend can support:
- Domestic and international travel not otherwise funded by academic departments that is integral to an intensive research project.
- Obtaining materials needed for a research project unavailable in Tri-Co collections or through other resources in the Tri-Co consortium. Research stipends do not support purchasing software licensing for programs that are available through the Libraries or IITS.
Students are highly encouraged to discuss their proposal with a faculty member who can be a resource for guiding the research project and contacted as a reference.
Proposals should include a full description of the project, how the project relates to coursework and/ or how the student sees their project in relation to a broader humanistic field, how the funding will support the project, a proposed timeline, and a detailed itemized budget of expenses (travel, lodging, materials, etc).
