Haverford College is investing in an initiative to recognize and maximize the use of institutional data as a strategic College asset, a Core Action Area (T.5.1 and T.5.2) of the Haverford 2030 Strategic Plan.
This initiative will create an improved and sustainable infrastructure that will bring together and steward data from disparate sources for consistency, transparency, and accessibility.
The initiative consists of three main components: a robust data governance program, a cloud-based data warehouse and analytics platform, and ongoing training in data fluency.
These components will:
- Improve data management
- Provide a reporting/analytics platform for college-wide data stewards
- Ensure accuracy and accountability of data for both external and internal reporting
- Provide and foster a culture of data fluency, data sharing, and data informed-decision making
Data AccessBring together data from disparate sources for consistency, transparency, and accessibility.

Training
A main goal of this implementation is to provide and foster a culture of data fluency, data sharing, and more extensive data-informed decision making. Training related to each of these aspects is a critical part of the initiative.
Training for the Edify platform will be provided to employees whose current responsibilities involve the care and leveraging of College data assets, and others interested in learning how to utilize the tools to analyze Haverford data.
Data fluency training is currently being planned for release to the greater Haverford community.
Additional details on training will be available in the future.
