Camp Taconic Job Opportunity:
Camp Taconic, a co-ed sleep away camp in Western, MA, is currently hiring upbeat and enthusiastic counselors to be role models for our campers this summer. This is the perfect opportunity for Education Majors looking for a summer internship or job. Camp begins on June 13th, 2024 and ends on August 10, 2024. We provide room and board for the summer, a salary, travel reimbursement, internship credit and it is an overall wonderful experience! As a camp counselor, you will live in a bunk with a group of campers and your job is to monitor their social, emotional, and physical well being. We have 2 types of counselors: General Counselors and Specialty counselors.
General Counselor: You work with our youngest campers, ages 8-10 and throughout the day, you follow them from activity to activity. You are responsible for participating in and motivating your campers during each of their activities. As a general counselor you really get to experience all that camp has to offer and form amazing bonds with your group of campers. You are essentially their parents, their big brothers and sisters, and their teachers over the course of the summer.
Specialty Counselor: During the six activity periods of the day, you work in one area of camp and teach campers of all ages who are assigned to your area for that period. We are looking for specialty counselors who are passionate, creative and have the ability to teach and develop the campers’ skills in that area. A specialty counselor gets the benefit of working in an activity area that they love, seeing the campers develop skills in that area, and get to be part of a group of campers in a bunk.
