List a detailed description of this specific campus job. | Interns will digitize materials from Quaker personal and family papers and materials related to Haverford College history. Interns will scan materials, provide descriptive information according to metadata standards, and prepare materials for upload into Haverford’s digital collections portal. Project: The internship will provide an opportunity to learn about digitization, describing materials, and metadata standards. Interns will digitize and describe a wide variety of materials, including letters, diaries, and photographs. They will have the opportunity to engage deeply and critically with rare and unique materials. Interns will learn about controlled vocabulary, descriptive practices, and have the opportunities to become familiar with and apply professional standards. Interns may also fulfill reproduction requests and engage with patrons via email about their requests. |
Qualifications: | Skills required The successful applicant will have: ● An interest in history, library science, and/or Quakerism ● Strong research skills ● Strong written and oral communication skills ● Attention to detail. |
