Our Partnerships

We work with the following organizations:
Bethel Academy
Bethel Academy, located within walking distance of the college, provides a supportive and safe environment where students can complete homework and receive reinforcement in reading, writing and math. In addition to academic support, they also provide life skills and cultural enrichment activities for our students. Haverford students volunteer in the tutoring program, and the OSCC also supports the organization’s programming throughout the year.
Junior League
The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. They operate a thrift shop in Ardmore, and all money made at the store goes right back into the organization. Students have volunteered in the shop, sorting donations, setting up displays, and more!
Southeast by Southeast
Southeast by Southeast creates a welcoming, supportive community space for immigrant and refugee families. Started in 2011, this initiative has grown and evolved, welcoming in neighbors, helping new families connect to support systems, and becoming a focal point for community activities and social services. The Office of Service has programmed alternative break trips here, and students have helped with after school workshops, citizenship prep courses, building maintenance, and much more.
Civic Engagement Map
Want to volunteer with a local organization but don't know where to start? Email us at hc-service [at] haverford.edu and we can help find an organization that would be a good fit, or check out the Civic Engagement Map and search for places that Haverford has worked with in the past!
