Quaker Job & Internship Opportunities

Many Quaker organizations offer rewarding internships and jobs open to recent college graduates.

We encourage upperclassmen to explore the opportunities listed below, though these are by no means comprehensive. Check QuakerInfo.org regularly for updated information or new ideas.

  • Quaker United Nations Office

QUNO has two offices, one in New York and one in Geneva, and offers an opportunity for several young adults each year to work at the UN and get hands on experience crafting advocacy positions, navigating the international policy arena, and facilitating outreach and education for the rest of the Quaker world about policy matters. The QUNO experiences in NY and Geneva are quite different. The application is generally due in early February.

  • QuEST

The Quaker Experiential Service and Training program is coordinated by the University Friends Meeting in Seattle, Washington. QuEST brings together six interns to live together in community while performing a year of voluntary service in a wide variety of social service agencies in the Seattle area. Placements are made through a matching process between intern skills and interests and agency needs. They are seeking interns who are committed to community life and engagement, cooperative living, service, and social justice. QuEST supports people in service from a wide range of backgrounds, international volunteers, and people of any (or no) spiritual affiliation. Most interns will qualify for AmeriCorps education awards, and in addition to excellent housing will receive health insurance, a communal food allowance, bus pass, modest stipend, and mentorship and support during their year of service. One-year minimum commitment required, starting just before Labor Day and ending the following August. Applications are generally due in early March.

FCNL offers around 8 internships each year, with a diversity of substantive and legislative areas of focus. These internships are well-known, well-regarded and a great opportunity. Applications are generally due in early March.

Participants will live in a Quaker intentional community, serve full-time with local community organizations, participate in a dynamic program exploring the growing edges of the Quaker Way, and receive material and spiritual support from QVS and local Friends meetings and churches.
