Have-A-Look

Have-A-Look, a fly-in program designed for students with lived experiences that have been historically underrepresented in higher education, offers the opportunity to become acquainted with the academic and social opportunities at Haverford.

October 27-29, 2024

Download the Schedule!

How it Works

During the program, participants will have the opportunity to interact with faculty and administrators, learn about diversity and belonging on campus, and explore Haverford further. Participants will also get the chance to engage in open dialogue with current Haverford students and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for how we choose to steward our community at Haverford.

All Have-A-Look participants will be able to complete an admission interview as a part of the program.

Deadlines

Priority Deadline for Overnight Visits: September 7
Standard Deadline: September 20

Applying

Interested high school seniors (U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and undocumented/DACA students living in the United States) are welcome to apply. In our HAL application review, we will consider among other things: a student's socioeconomic background, first generation to college status, ability to travel to campus without Have-A-Look, and other life experiences that have been historically underrepresented in higher education. Haverford will provide need-based travel scholarships for Have-A-Look participants.

Overnight Visits

Please Note: Due to limited capacity for overnight guest visits during the pandemic, Haverford will not be able to host all HAL participants for the in-person program in Fall 2021. We strongly encourage you to apply by September 7 if you are interested in the overnight visit and are planning to be fully vaccinated by October 10. We are also committed to working with you to support your ability to attend Have-A-Look, including need-based travel scholarships for those considering the in-person opportunity.

In the event that you do not participate in the overnight visit this fall, all HAL participants who are admitted to Haverford will be invited to the in-person spring Fly-in Squirrels (FIS) program. Haverford will provide need-based travel scholarships for FIS 2022 participants.

Before indicating on the HAL application your interest in an overnight stay this fall, please be sure that you have permission from your parent or guardian and your school to travel to Philadelphia for this opportunity. If your airline tickets are booked and you cannot attend, you may be responsible for the cost of your ticket.
