Scientists in Brazil have developed various biotechnologies to make renewable bioproducts, like biofuels and bioplastics, from sugarcane. This talk explores how such renewables, perhaps surprisingly, can replicate petro-extractivism, but at the same time may create the molecular conditions of possibility for other unexpected renewable futures.
