Ellen Cassedy gives a talk entitled Di Froyen (The Women): Inside the movement to find, translate and celebrate the women of Yiddish Literature.

Women were prolific writers of Yiddish literature, but for the most part, only recently has their work been brought into public view. Ellen Cassedy, a leading translator of Yiddish women writers, offers an intimate view of these “found treasures” and what we’re learning from them. What do Kadya Molodowsky, Blume Lempel, Yenta Mash, Miriam Karpilove, Fradl Shtok, and Rashel Veprinski have to offer today’s readers? And what do today’s initiatives promise for the future?
