Gary Kafer is a PhD candidate in the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. His work focuses on digital technology, surveillance culture, and theories of race, gender, and sexuality.

Organized in conjunction with the Hurford Center 2023-24 Faculty Seminar “Technology & Justice: Mediating Communities” led by Sorelle Friedler and Laura McGrane.
