Access and Disability Services
Mobility Concerns
Students that have a disability or injury that impacts their mobility should contact ADS to discuss ADA accommodations.
A mobility impairment can impact a student’s ability to get around campus and enter buildings as well as manipulate objects, write with a pen or type. Please reach out to ADS if you need ADA accommodations due to a mobility concern so we can discuss options.
Learn More: The University of Washington's Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology (DO-IT) site is a good resource for learning more about mobility impairments.
Report Access Barriers
If you encounter a physical, electronic or programmatic barrier please report this issue or concern. The College will remove these barriers as quickly as possible. Examples of barriers include inoperable electronic doors, inaccessible documents on websites, or events in inaccessible locations.
Physical Access Assistance
Need help getting to class, either because of a permanent disability or temporary injury? Contact ADS at hc-ads [at] haverford.edu or Campus Safety (610) 896-1111 for assistance.
Note: The College is not required to provide this service as a permanent ADA accommodation for students, but every effort will be made to assist you.
In Case of Emergency
Emergency phones are located across the campus. Each provides an instant link with Campus Safety–no dialing is required–and the dispatcher knows where the call is coming from. Campus Safety staff are trained in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and 5 Automated External Defibrillator use. They can provide transportation to Health Services or to the hospital when Health Services is closed.
