Additional Course Info | Class Number: 2678 This course focuses on three foundational figures of 20th century Mexico: Paz (1914-1998), Carlos Fuentes (1928-2012) and Elena Poniatowska (1932- ), the ways in which their work changed our understanding of Mexico, and (the art of) writing. Mexican history, its politics, language, love, and in the case of Poniatowska, the emergence of women in literature and the arts as free social agents will be explored through a selection of their writings.; Enrollment Limit: 15; Lottery Preference(s): 1.
