What goes into defining specific people or geographic regions as “in need”? What complex dynamics are at play when an outside actor – whether in the form of a government aid agency, an NGO, or an individual volunteer – enters a community in order to aid its members? How do those categorized as beneficiaries assert their own identities and offer their own perspectives on social change? Approach: Cross-Cultural Analysis (CC); Enrollment Limit 25: Freshman seats: 10; Enrollment Criteria: Anthropology majors, Sophomore standing or higher |
