Biography
Emily Sterk is Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish and Consortium for Faculty Diversity Fellow at Haverford College. She earned her PhD from the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Sterk’s current book project critically examines literary and cultural representations of cross-cultural encounters between international tourists and sex workers in the American tropics. The keywords that organize her publications and courses are: anti-colonialism, feminism, girlhood, translation, speculative fiction, and sex and sexuality. Dr. Sterk’s work has appeared in Translation Review, Cincinnati Romance Review, and Voces del Caribe.
