Contacts & Staff
Hi I’m Michael Bueno and I’m majoring in Astrophysics with a Spanish Minor. In addition to the Women*s Center, I’m involved with the Indoor Track team, the Rugby team and Mock Trial. I’m from the Bronx, New York. I’m the oldest of three brothers and my mom is the only superhero I know. I love to run around, play basketball, play rugby and watch nerdy science videos. I hope to see you at our events!
Hello! I am Dana Duncombe, a junior majoring in Sociology at Bryn Mawr College and minoring in French and Francophone Studies in the Bi-Co. My time in the Bi-Co has provided endless moments for exploration: dancing, learning from honey bees, walking in the Pinetum, riding public transportation for fun, and above all, delving into the Women*s Center’s excitement and thoughtfulness. With our physical location in the campus center and our mobile spirit throughout Haverford, please join us in conversation and in movement regarding gender and sexuality issues!
I am Maddy Durante, a senior staff member majoring in English with a concentration in Gender & Sexuality Studies. On campus I also enjoy sipping tea in my homeland ehaus (come to Thursday dinner!), playing Ultimate, going to readings, and talking things over in the Writing Center. I like: eggs, Maggie Nelson, green pens, Appalachian mountainscapes, sharing food with community, and denim jackets. I feel so lucky to participate in the intentional and loving collective that is the Women*s Center and hope to share that space with as many others as I can this last semester.
Hi! I’m Harlow Figa, a senior at Haverford majoring in Anthropology, minoring in Health Studies, and concentrating in Gender and Sexuality Studies. I’m on a bunch of committees, I like to make/watch films, I love seltzer, and I enjoy eating/working/procrastinating in the DC for hours on end. I also love the Women*s Center and feel lucky to have worked there throughout my four years at Haverford - stop by during open hours and at our events to see what we’re all about!
I’m Katy Frank, class of 2017 at Haverford with a major in English and a concentration in Gender and Sexuality Studies. As well as working at the Women*s Center, I’m on the Frisbee team, editorial team for Margin, and a co-head of Queer Discussion Group. At the Women*s Center I have worked and collaborated on such projects/events as: an alternative menstrual products workshop, a birthday party for Audre Lorde and Toni Morrison, a radical burlesque performance, a brunch with distinguished alumnae, and organizing and buying new books for our library. I’m from New York City, though I love Philadelphia and feel incredibly lucky to live so close to such a great place.
I’m Patrick Quinn, a junior at Haverford from the lovely Litchfield hills of northwestern Connecticut majoring in the History of Art and minoring in the Growth & Structure of Cities. In addition to working at the Women*s Center, I also serve as a co-head of Queer Discussion Group work in multiple capacities for the Admissions Office. A few of my favorite things include films, maps, lipstick, old buildings, and the scent of citrus peels. I spend a lot of time napping on the couch in the Women*s Center because it is truly a fantastic place to be. I hope to see you there sometime!
Hello, I’m Shantal Taveras! I hope to major in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. I am also one of the co-heads of the Alliance of Latin American Students and an Ambassador of Multicultural Awareness. When I am not in the Women*s Center, you may find me in the DC eating, talking, or thinking. If you’re not very lucky, you’ll see me do all three. I enjoy reading memoirs and classics, watching detective shows, and napping. If you see me anywhere on campus, please do come over and make a new friend!
I’m Amelia Williams, and I am a sophomore completing pre-nursing requirements, and majoring in Anthropology and concentrating in Africana Studies. I am super into midwifery & reproductive health and justice and am starting to explore sexual education & advocacy work. I also intern at Planned Parenthood on Fridays, play guitar in my room and Skype my grandma on Saturdays, and do homework on Sundays.
