Melissa joined the Haverford College Athletics Department in July 2003. Along with her duties as a certified athletic trainer, she has served as the department's NCAA Compliance Coordinator since the spring of 2008. During her time at Haverford, she has also worked as an athletic trainer for the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League, an adjunct faculty member for Eastern University and for the University of the Sciences, a clinical instructor for Eastern University's Athletic Training Program and as an Athletic Trainer/Medical Coordinator for various lacrosse camps and tournaments. Prior to joining Haverford, Melissa was an athletic trainer/clinical instructor at the University of Delaware (2001-2003) and Delaware State University (1999-2001). She earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Delaware, where she also did some graduate work in Biomechanics and Movement Science. She earned a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a concentration in Rehabilitation Science from the California University of Pennsylvania. Melissa obtained her certification in athletic training (ATC) in 1999 and a certification in strength and conditioning (CSCS) in 2004. She is licensed to practice as an athletic trainer in both Pennsylvania and Delaware.
