Mr. Colahan has worked in financial aid since 1983. He has been employed at Haverford since 2012, and became Director of Financiial Aid in November 2015. Previous to Haverford, he has worked at Cabrini College, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Thomas Jefferson University, and the Katharine Gibbs Schools.

He is the author of two novels. THE GOSPEL OF CATHERINE DEARE (2018) takes place in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and follows a married Pennsylvania woman who leaves her family to follow Jesus Christ and five dysfunctional disciples as they travel the Pennsylvania countryside in a Dodge Grand Caravan, searching for God. CAREER SCHOOL (2015) studies the staff and faculty of a small prestigious business college in Philadelphia that has its integrity tested when, for financial reasons, the college begins accepting any student who applies.
