Hello, or perhaps, salve!
My name is Dylan Dixon and I am an English major and Classical Culture and Society minor from Orlando, Florida. My academic interests are many and varied—they include but are not limited to the reception of Greco-Roman mythology in Western art music; Western art music in general, particularly that of the Late Romantic era and beyond; translation theory, its practice, and its implications in the Anglophone world; the depiction and criticism of built environments in modernist literature; and exploring the ways in which the field of Classics can enact social justice in the 21st century. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, taking carefree strolls along the Nature Trail, playing around with constructed languages, and, of course, poking some fun at bad architecture (McMansions...).
