Broadly, my research interests are focused in plant genetics, using research techniques ranging from the laboratory (molecular genotyping and microscopy), the computer terminal (high-throughput sequencing, bioinformatics, and phylogenetics), and the field (genetic crosses and phenotyping) to study the evolution of abnormal chromsome 10 (Ab10), a selfish genetic element in the crop plant Zea mays (maize, corn).
