Biography
As Director of Programming and Assessment for Diversity and Community Engagement and Associate Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, I work across the campus with students, staff, and faculty on such initiatives as the Summer Social Justice Institute (SSJI), International Students Orientation (ISO), Serendipity Day Camp. The majority of my work is in collaboration with campus partners such as the Dean’s Office, Office of Religious and Spiritual Life; the Marilou Allen Office of Service and Community Collaboration; International Student Service Office (ISSO), the Gender Resource and Sexuality Education Center, and the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship (CPGC).
In the Office of Multicultural Affairs, we support individuals and organizations working to foster cultural and intellectual diversity at Haverford College through initiatives that expand and extend our collective understanding of the challenges and opportunities of creating a truly diverse community.
My approach to this work is rooted in deep listening and asking the kinds of open questions that allow us to synthesize and synchronize resources by examining where different groups are asking the same foundational questions. I often served as a first point of administrative contact for student leaders and organizers looking to enact change on campus- discussing the roots of concerns, and identifying appropriate options and resources. My work also includes expanding those individual conversations into larger opportunities for campus dialogue around issues of identity, equity, and inclusion.
