Anubhav Sharma is a Technologist Intern for Quantitative Research at Morningstar, Inc. He is currently working in portfolio analytics subdivision exploring the effects of macroeconomic fluctuations on disaggregated prices using Factor-augmented Vector Auto-regression (FAVAR).
Anubhav is a rising senior at Haverford College double majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics as well as a graduate candidate for the Masters of Science in Engineering in Computer and Information Science (MSE/CIS) at University of Pennsylvania. At Haverford, he works as Teaching Assistant at Department of Computer Science for multiple courses and as Advising Intern at Center for Career and Professional Advising (CCPA). Recently, he was elected by the Haverford student body as the Officer of Academics in the Student’s Council to voice academic concerns to academic departments, faculty, and the council. Along with being an International Student Resource Person (ISRP) and co-leading the South Asian Society (SAS), he serves on the Customs Committee and on the board of International Students’ Association (ISA).
His astrophysics research in exploring HI rich low star forming galaxies with Prof. Karen Masters is currently under collaboration review. In summer 2021, he also worked with Prof. Rob Manning in researching energy-minimizing self-contact configurations of elastic filaments in mathematics. His other recent projects include Coding the Hungarian Algorithm, Reconnect, and The College Nerd.
Born and raised in Nepal, Anubhav completed his School Level Certificate (SLC) from St. Xavier’s Godavari School in 2016 and Cambridge International A-Levels from Rato Bangala School in 2018. He was a visiting student at King’s College London in Fall 2021. He loves to travel and play chess. His proven top strengths are strategy, adaptability, and responsibility.
