Amanda Chaves earned her BA in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Social Service as a macro-practice student with a concentration in Community Practice, Policy, and Advocacy from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR) and will graduate in Spring 2019. Her academic interests focus on the elimination of social inequalities and how this can be achieved via higher education opportunities. Amanda also serves as the Graduate Students Association Secretary and is the graduate student representative for the GSSWSR Policy Committee and Bryn Mawr College Board of Trustees Committee.
Amanda is the Domestic Fellowship Advisor at CPGC and connects students with U.S.-based social justice opportunities that align with their academic goals; thus bridging their higher education with experiential learning.
