The results are in. Here are the winners of the 2019 Study Abroad Photo Contest.
2019 Contest Rules
The Annual Study Abroad Photo Contest is open to any student that has attended and completed a Haverford-approved Study Abroad program in the past calendar year, and who has returned from their abroad experience. For example, any student who studied abroad in Spring 2018, Full year 2017-2018, or Fall 2018 and who is back on campus for the Spring 2019 semester would be entered in the 2019 Spring Photo Contest. Your photos may have been taken anywhere outside of the US during your time abroad. You may enter one photo per category.
The first round of voting takes place from a panel of faculty and staff judges, who rate the photos and choose their favorite three in each category. Any photo that receives two or more votes from a judge moves onto the second round of voting, the Popular Vote. If a student receives two or more votes in more than two categories from the judges, only their two highest-voted submissions will move forward. Students whose photos have made it past the first round of voting will receive an e-mail. The second round is run as a poll, with just the titles of the photos available for display. This round lasts for one week. Winners will receive an e-mail after votes have been tallied.
Prizes are awarded for first, second, and third prize in each category. There will be a small photo exhibition and reception for all winners and their guests at the end of the semester.
