In a campus far, far away, there lived a student body with no means for excitement and bonding.
It was then that the noble few Fords banded together to make a change. In 1993, these fun warriors became known as Fords Against Boredom and so began the ever present fight against the mundane. Fords cheered for traditions like Quizzo and Casino Night starting out the year and Finals Week Festivities, with Ben & Jerry’s Bingo (free ice cream and Bingo fun) and Midnight Breakfast (where deans serve you tater tots and bacon!!!). And FAB didn’t stop there—FAB became more motivated and started taking students off campus to venture the beyond, to museums, concerts, theatre venues, sporting events, and more, all for free and for everyone! Additionally, FAB co-sponsors events with other student groups—just email us with an idea or proposal!

Who is FAB?!

I am a prospective Chemistry major with a Biochemistry concentration and Education minor. FAB was one of the first things I joined when stepping on campus and it’s always been a fun time! Casino Night, Love Shack, and and movie trip are my super faves, but all the FAB trips are amazing. In my spare time (that isn’t FAB-tastic) I play video & board games, dance with the Bounce dance crew, and explore Philly.

I am a junior chemistry major with a concentration in biochemistry! I had the fab-ulous opportunity to join FAB last year and I am also a member of the women's soccer team. My favorite FAB events are Quizzo because I like to pretend I'm good at trivia, and casino night because we, the Haverford students, look great at classy events. My dream profession would be to in an orchestra that records scores for Disney movies (disclaimer I don’t play an instrument, hence the dream).

Hey there! I’m a senior psychology major and I’ve been on FAB my entire time at Haverford. FAB Iron Chef is my favorite on-campus event, and when we do off-campus trips I love Phillies games and cooking classes! Outside of FAB, I’m on the Cricket team, Honor Council, and am working on my senior thesis (which is broadly on close relationships, social anxiety, and self-concept!).

Born in Pittsburgh but raised in England, I returned to the US to attend Haverford, where I became a member of FAB. I loved taking part in and organising FAB events, especially laser tag, quizzo, and pretty much anything that includes chocolate or movies, two of my favourite things. My favourite thing to make at the DC is a peanut butter and banana toasted sandwich. Around Haverford I enjoy making films, going to comedy shows and chilling in the CPGC cafe.

I am a first-year from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and am currently undecided about my major. My favorite FAB events are Quizzo (because I like to think that watching Jeopardy has paid off), Casino Night, and I am looking forward to Iron Chef (since I watch too many cooking competition shows). In my spare time, I watch The Daily Show, take pointless Buzzfeed quizzes, and practice water pong on weekdays.

I live in Sewickley, PA, which is a suburb of Pittsburgh! My favorite FAB events are Dating Game, trips to trampoline parks, and First Friday. In addition to FAB, I play tennis for Haverford, am Strength and Conditioning Committee member, TA for linguistics and math classes, and am an HCO for Tritton Lower West.

Hello! I’m Viv and I’m a bio major, an ed minor, an elementary school teacher-to-be, and I LOVE ice cream. I look upset in my photo because I'm running out of ice cream. The best ice cream I've ever had was with my FAB family at Ben & Jerry's Bingo, a FAB Finals Week Festivities event, where we serve free ice cream to the student body and play bingo together to de-stress. I also can’t resist trying out creative events such DC Iron Chef competitions and Love Shack gingerbread house building events at HC!

I hail from San Mateo, CA, but nothing makes me happier than calling Haverford my second home. I joined FAB because it provides amazing opportunities for Fords to try new things, explore the Philadelphia area, and engage in classic Haverford traditions. Favorite FAB experiences (there are so many!) include trips to the Wilma Theater's Hamlet, Longwood Gardens, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Outside of FAB, I am a history major and participate in women's tennis, Customs, Speakers Committee, and the Arboretum Executive Committee.
