It was supported by the Distinguished Visitors Program, the Hurford Center for the Arts and Humanities, the Spanish Department, the Comparative Literature Department and the Gender and Sexualities Program. 

The initiative to invite Raquel was born out of our Lina Martínez Hernández' Caribe Queer: Narratives and Sexualities in the Hispanic Caribbean class, where they read Lo Terciario/The Tertiary, Raquel's poetic response to the PROMESA bill affecting Puerto Rico.
