La Casa Hispánica
La casa hispánica is a special interest house which supports the endeavors of students actively engaged in in organizing programs concerned with the cultures and civilizations of the Spanish-speaking world. The first floor houses a large room used for student group and Spanish department activities, a foyer, and a separate faculty residence. La Casa Hispánica is located just steps off-campus in a residential neighborhood and houses up to six students.
Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA)
For the 2018-19 academic year, Paula Yurss Lasanta will join the Haverford community as the first Spanish department FLTA. Paula, a native of Navarra, Spain, will live in La Casa, host cultural activities, and foster a daily experience in Spanish for the residents. Outside of la casa, Paula will be in charge of the department's tutorías, CREA (the Spanish Writing Center), and the Spanish lunch table.
