Leaving, Returning, & Switching Notices 2019-2020
The following information is for those students who are doing one of the following: leaving their campus housing and not returning in the Spring 2020 semester, returning to campus housing in the Spring 2020 semester, or switching their campus housing for the Spring 2020 semester.
If you are leaving...
The deadline to complete your move out is by 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21. Any student found in the residence halls after this deadline will be required to leave immediately and may be fined $150.00.
Returning Keys:
Students are responsible for returning their room key to the Facilities Management Office before leaving campus due to a room switch, going on leave, study abroad, or transferring. Please do not leave your key at Campus Safety and do not give your key to someone else to return. If returning your key outside normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm), place your key in a sealed envelope with your name and drop it in the mail slot located under the window of the Facilities Management Office.
Students who forget to return their room key before they leave campus must send their key back to Facilities via FedEx or UPS, as keys tear out of regular USPS envelopes. If keys are not returned by the deadline (see pg. 7 in the Residential Life Handbook), students will be charged.
If a student will be living in your room in the Spring, please try to accommodate them, since they must move their belongings into their new room before the residence halls close. If you will be leaving campus before the student, and they need the key to your room, please go to Facilities together, in order to change the key records. The Facilities Management Office will close at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20.
Storage:
Students leaving the College due to graduation, transferring, a leave, or study abroad are not permitted to store any belongings at the College. Haverford College only provides storage to students who are given permission by LIFTFAR and the Office of Residential Life based on established criteria. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Residential Life at hc-reslife@haverford.edu.
Leaving:
Please leave your room in condition that you found it upon moving in, including putting back all furniture to its original state. You are responsible for cleaning your room and removing all trash and recycling. Please close and lock your windows, turn off all lights, and lock your door when you leave. If Facilities finds that you have left your room, apartment, and/or common area in an unsatisfactory condition, you will be charged.
If you are returning...

Please remember to bring your OneCard back with you. If your OneCard has been lost or damaged, please go to the Campus Safety Office (GIAC) and they will issue you a new OneCard. Please do so before picking up your room key.
Emergency Contact Information:
Haverford College requires all students to provide, review, and update their emergency contact information. Please check your information in Bionic and update it as needed.
Moving In:
Every effort has been made to ensure that you will move into a room that is clean and has College-issued furniture. If you find something missing, damages, etc. we ask you to please let Facilities know by filling out and submitting a Room Condition Form within 7 days of moving in. If you experience any housekeeping or maintenance issues upon move in, please report them to Facilities Management via School Dude. The Residential Life Handbook provides you with important information regarding living on campus.
If you are switching...
Students who are switching rooms are responsible for completing their move out of their Fall housing assignment and into their Spring housing assignment by 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21. All residence halls will close and OneCards will be deactivated for the Winter Break by 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21. Any student found in the residence halls after this deadline will be required to leave immediately and may be fined $150.00.
