2019 Early Arrival Information
We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding and ask that you plan your arrival accordingly. Contact the Office of Residential Life (hc-reslife@haverford.edu) with any questions or concerns.
Early Arrival Date
Please make sure to note the date you have been given permission to arrive back early on. You will not be permitted on campus or to pick up your room key prior to your approved early arrival date. Jump to Key Pick Up Locations »
- Upper-class Non-Academic Registration has been streamlined in an effort to make your arrival and key pick up easier and more convenient.
- All First-Year and New students, even if you have arrived early, are required to go through Non-Academic Registration on Wednesday, August 28.
Please note: Due to the increasing number of students arriving early without permission, there will be a $250 fine for students who are on campus before their approved early arrival date or for upper-class students before the residence halls officially open on Sunday, September 1. Any student(s) who permits someone to stay in their residence hall/apartment will also be fined a $250 fine.
Once you have moved into your room, please fill out the Facilities Management Room Condition Form.
Health Insurance Requirement
All students will be charged in July by the Business Office for the student health insurance plan (SHIP) on the college bill. If you wish to waive out of the plan and not be charged you must visit the insurance site and waive the plan. You will get a confirmation by email that your plan is an acceptable health insurance plan. Your health insurance plan must work within 10 miles of campus and work at the Student Health Center. International students with visas are mandated to take the plan. All students must upload a copy of their insurance card as proof in the Haverhealth portal.
Please contact the Business Office if you have any questions or problems regarding billing or financial assistance. Any questions regarding the SHIP plan must be directed to First Risk Advisors.
Meals Prior to the Start of the Plan
Each sponsoring department will let their early arrivals know what meals will be provided to them. Please make sure you are clear about what meals are and are not covered by the department/office sponsoring your early arrival. Students will use their OneCard to swipe for meals. Each student's OneCard will be pre-programmed with the specific meals provided for you by your sponsoring department. Unauthorized swipes for meals will be charged to the student. Students are welcome to purchase meals at the DC checker table. Please note: the meal plan starts for the academic year with dinner on Monday, September 2, 2019.
Parking Permits
Upper-class students planning to have a car on campus need to register their car with and obtain a Parking Permit from Campus Safety. You can register ahead of time by completing the online registration form. Parking Permit Decals are available for pick up daily 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (Campus Safety).
