Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology (Part-Time)
Haverford College invites applications for part-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology positions for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
Haverford College invites applications for several part-time (1 or 2 teaching credit) positions in the Department of Biology for the 2023-2024 academic year. Possible courses include mentored, team-taught lab classes at the 200 and 300 level as well as 7 week upper-level electives in the applicants’ area of expertise. These positions have worked well in past years for regional postdocs looking to make connections and expand experience in a Liberal Arts College setting while maintaining ties to their postdoctoral research labs. Candidates with expertise in biochemistry, neurobiology, environmental physiology and biomedical fields are particularly encouraged to apply but all disciplines of biology will be considered. Ideal candidates will also demonstrate a commitment to engaging a diverse student body and creating an inclusive classroom environment in a liberal arts context.
Positions are available for the fall 2023 or spring 2024 semester.
It is expected that candidates will have completed a Ph.D. in biology or related field, but ABD candidates will be considered.
The review of applications will begin on March 8th, 2023 and continue until the position is filled. Candidates should submit, via Interfolio (https://apply.interfolio.com/121940), a cover letter of no longer than 2 pages, current CV, and the names and contact information for three references. Reference letters will be requested before the final round of interview. The cover letter should address your teaching and research interests and experiences, and include how you will engage a diverse student body. Other supporting materials, such as a teaching or research statement, are welcome but not required.
