Haverford College invites applications for a full-time multi-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology to begin Fall 2023.
Haverford College invites applications for a visiting, full-time leave replacement faculty position in the Department of Biology starting in the 2023-2024 academic year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year upon successful review. Responsibilities will include teaching five course credits over two semesters at sophomore to senior levels, including at least one credit for team-taught course-based research (CURE) or independent research with students. Teaching credits include team-taught courses with associated mentorship, as well as independently taught new courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Candidates with expertise in biochemistry or environmental physiology, biostatistics, genomics and biomedical fields are particularly encouraged to apply; however, all disciplines of biology will be considered. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to engaging a diverse student body and creating an inclusive classroom environment in a liberal arts context.
The position begins July 1, 2023 in preparation for the fall semester of 2023; instruction begins September 5. Research funding is available to help visiting faculty continue their research activities.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biology or related field.
