Guide for New Faculty - Spring 2022
Welcome to Haverford!
Greetings from the Office of the Provost. With the semester starting next week we wanted to send you a few friendly tips and reminders to help you with your first few days on campus.
Complete your onboarding paperwork (new hires only)
You will need to complete some information in Workday (our HR system) and you should have an email that was sent to your personal email address that will allow you to access your record in the Workday system. If you are having trouble logging in you can find some guidance here or you can contact the prodesk [at] haverford.edu (Prodesk) for further assistance.
If you are newly hired, you are also required to meet with HR in person within five days of your start date so please contact amiller5 [at] haverford.edu (Aurora Miller in HR) to schedule an appointment.
New to campus?
If you are new to Haverford, a great place to learn some fundamentals of teaching on campus is our new faculty orientation handbook. There is information on everything from how to obtain an ID and keys as well as pedagogical resources and how to support your students inside and outside the classroom. This should be your first stop for any questions you may have.
If you are looking for upcoming deadlines and events related to teaching please take a look at the Haverford College Academic Calendar.
Please take a moment to learn the name of your faculty administrative assistant and the departments they support. Your faculty admin and your department chair will be great resources for information and guidance.
Lastly, a few reminders:
- Upload proof of a COVID-19 booster
- Make sure your course is visible in Moodle (here’s how)
- Review this communication with guidelines regarding the teaching of Spring 2022 courses during COVID-19
We are glad that you will be joining us this semester.
