Haverford Microfinance Consulting (HMFC) creates awareness of economic development issues on campus, participates in local community development work, and networks with similar institutions around the world. The club was founded in order to educate more of the student body about microfinance and get students involved with economic development issues. The club hopes to give those students who have a passion for economics and social justice an outlet to create social value through the use of modern business practices. Our recent work includes consulting for the Vietnam Relief Effort, which has involved reviewing their microfinance program and making recommendations for expanding the program.
