Third Annual Young Alumni Giving Month Most Successful To Date

Eight-hundred eleven young alumni participated in the third annual Young Alumni Giving Month—breaking the previous record of 712 set in 2010, the program’s first year. This remarkable increase in giving by young alumni (Class of 2003-2012) was inspired in part by an anonymous family from the Class of 2011 who agreed to match all gifts. Additionally, they challenged young alumni to give in greater numbers with a participation challenge: When specific benchmarks were achieved, they would make additional gifts—$5,000 at 400 and 550 donors, respectively, and $10,000 at 700 donors. In total, young alumni and the anonymous family contributed $163,020 to Haverford’s Annual Fund. View class-by-class participation rates, gift designations and other stats from YAGM 2012.

581 Alums Meet The 500 Donor Challenge

Last month, an anonymous member of the Board of Managers joined Be Haverfordian (for classes in the second decade past graduation) to challenge those alumni to participate in the Annual Fund. If 500 of them made a gift by November 15, the Board member would give $50,000 to Haverford. It was a high stakes challenge, and 581 Fords made it a remarkable success, resulting in a total of $206,622 for the College.

Photo Slideshow: Family & Friends Weekend

Last month, 475 parents, siblings, grandparents and friends traveled to campus to spend time with their Fords during Family & Friends Weekend. We were treated to a beautiful, sunny weekend filled with open houses at our academic centers, discussions with deans and student leaders, conversations about study abroad and career development, and a reception with Interim President Joanne V. Creighton. View a slideshow of the weekend's memorable events.
