Security Alert: Robbery at Wachovia Bank on August 27

Thanks to all members of the campus community for your prompt response to our security alert Friday afternoon.  As you may know, police were searching for a man who robbed the Wachovia Bank branch on Lancaster Avenue in Haverford and, because the suspect was last seen fleeing across the field located between Lancaster Avenue and the duck pond, we used our emergency notification system to ask the campus community to remain indoors pending further news and information. At 3:25 pm, we received word from Lower Merion Township Police that even though the suspect had not been apprehended, in their view the campus was safe and that our community could resume normal activity. This emergency notification system relies on telephone, email and text message to alert community members in the event of an emergency.  Given that we are in the process of inputting contact information for incoming freshmen and updating similar information about returning students, we ask you to go to and click on the appropriate link (student or faculty/staff) in the section called Stay up-to-date.  Please verify that the information we have on file is correct and complete.
