In KINSC Zubrow Commons 1 - 2:30 pm on Monday, January 20th.
Join us as we pack bags with toiletries and hygiene items which will be delivered to seniors in our area by our friends at Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Mainline! Everyone is welcome! Funding is generously provided by Partners for Campus-Community Engagement.
Screen Printing Workshop
1/20/25, 2:30 - 4:30 pm. Led by Andrea Pauliuc, the recipient of the 2025 MLK Award for Youth Leadership, Creative Maladjustment and Social Change, will be in Zubrow Commons to help create screen printed banners, signs and tee-shirts on MLK Day! Andrea is the Internal Organizer of MarchOnHarrisburg. She will also share reflections and invite others into a discussion on democracy. Drop by to join the fun! MLK Movie Marathon & Senior Stoles
Tuesday, January 21st from 9:30 - 3:30 pm in Stokes 106. Join us for an exploratory film marathon celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while exploring the broader movements for justice, equality, and freedom during his time. Discover the stories of iconic figures, whose advocacy may have contrasted yet complemented King’s vision for nonviolent resistance. This marathon highlights not only King’s leadership but also the diversity of voices and movements that shaped the fight for racial justice in America. Come for the films, stay for the discussion, and leave inspired by the enduring spirit of equality and change.
Film Screening and Talk with Rasool Berry
Wednesday January 22nd, Location: VCAM Movie Theater from 7:30 - 9:30 pm. Viewing of Juneteenth: Faith and Freedom
Rasool Berry serves as teaching pastor at The Bridge Church in Brooklyn, New York. He also is the Director of Partnerships & Content Development with Our Daily Bread Ministries. Rasool graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies and Sociology. Rasool is a sought-after writer on the intersection of faith and culture. He’s the host of the Christianity Today sponsored Where Ya From? podcast and the writer, producer, and host of the Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom feature-length documentary. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Tamica, and their daughter.
Building Religious Literacy/Human Library Panel
Thursday, January 23rd from 12 - 1:30 pm pm in the Dining Center Bryn Mawr room. This program focuses on the personal, lived faith experiences of the presenters. Topics include central faith practices, core stories, concepts of the Divine, sacred texts, major holidays, and helpful sensitivities and awareness.
CPGC Youth Leadership, Creative Maladjustment and Social Change Award
1/24/25, 3:00 p.m., Lutnick 200. Join us to celebrate award recipient Andrea Pauliuc for her work with MarchOnHarrisburg! Andrea Pauliuc is the Internal Organizer of MarchOnHarrisburg, a nonpartisan and grassroots organization that fights against corruption in Pennsylvania politics through legislative reform. Andrea also organizes for the Pennsylvania Action on Climate (PAC), which brings together smaller climate movements from across PA into one campaign to fight climate change through an anti-corruption lens.
Nominated by Philadelphia Justice & Equity Fellow Lauren Johnson ‘26, Andrea will receive an award and an honorarium of $1000. From Andrea’s nomination: “Andrea’s accomplishments and contributions to Pennsylvania make her a shining example of what young people can do when they refuse to stand by an unjust system and decide to act in Dr. King’s legacy of nonviolent, intersectional organizing for justice.”
Andrea will be joined by a panel of organizers who are part of the Poor People's Campaign:
- Rabbi Michael Pollack, co-founder of MarchOnHarrisburg & tri-chair of the PA Poor People's Campaign
- Desi Burnette, statewide organizer, for Movement Immigrant Leaders of PA
- Nick Marcil, organizer and activist, PA Debt Collective
- Arly Henninger-Voss, Legislative Associate for UUJusticePA
