The senior thesis represents the culmination of a Haverford student’s academic experience, and is one of the most important and rewarding ways that Haverford realizes its educational mission. It is an opportunity to do original research at levels usually reserved for graduate students, in partnership with faculty mentors. Haverford College is one of a very few institutions in the country that includes a senior thesis project as part of every student’s academic program.

The CCPA fosters career exploration, professional growth for students and alumni, as well as networking and outreach with employers.

The John B. Hurford ’60 Center for the Arts and Humanities (HCAH) supports the intellectual and artistic ambitions of faculty, students, and staff, fostering collaboration, experimentation, and critical thought under the auspices of the Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery, the Tuttle Creative Programs, and other Center initiatives.

“Linguistic Diversity, Threats to Diversity, and Resistance”

Taught by assistant professor of linguistics Brook Lillehaugen, this course addresses issues of linguistic diversity, experiences of difference, and power structures as they relate to the perception and use of language, and struggles for justice in linguistic context.

Oscar Wang '14, founder/CEO of College Together, recently started another new program that places ambitious college-age youth in paying jobs at some of Philly's top restaurants and prepares them for careers in the hospitality industry.

Though the tech industry's gender barriers have been slow to crumble, "it may be a great time for women in tech to pitch or start a business," says Amanda Lannert '94, CEO of Jellyvision and a "super mentor" for Chicago business incubators Impact Engine and Tech Stars.
