Since 2011 College Communications has produced a unique homepage each weekday to spotlight the rich diversity of Haverford's academic programming, extracurricular offerings, campus culture, and community members' accomplishments.
Philosophy at Haverford aims as far as possible to reflect the richness, diversity, and reflexivity of philosophical inquiry.
The Departments of astronomy, biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, and psychology are housed in the state-of-the-art Marian E. Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center (KINSC).
Astronomy students get the chance to explore the Universe using telescopes like the one shown here, at Kitt Peak National Observatory. Andy Solberg ’78 is a D.C. police commander with a master’s degree in philosophy who would rather be out on the street than behind a desk, thinks police work can be informed by Aristotle’s ethics, and believes, “We arrest way too many people, and we shouldn’t.”

Each year, Fords look forward to myriad traditional events such as the Collection speaker series; frequent a cappella concerts; pinwheel day; the annual weekend throwdown at the end of the year called Haverfest; and, most importantly, Fall and Spring Plenary.
Through funding from the Hurford Center for the Arts & Humanities, anthropology major Samuel Fox ’14 spent his summer in Arizona doing field research and finished the first draft of his novella, which features an anthropologist and a fictional citizen border patrol group.
