Office Hour – Jeff Tecosky-Feldman

Along with teaching courses in calculus, geometry, and linear algebra, Senior Lecturer of Mathematics and Statistics Jeff Tecosky-Feldman directs the Chesick Summer Institute, a vital part of the Chesick Scholars Program, a four-year academic mentoring and leadership program for under-represented, under-resourced, or first-generation Haverford students that includes a residential summer program.

Read Office Hour in the Spring 2018 issue of Haverford Magazine.

Tecosky-Feldman's interest in under-represented groups in science has also led him to become the director of MSP (formerly known as the Multicultural Scholars Program). Five years ago, he worked with Dean Michael Martinez to launch Horizons and also finds time to help run the annual Yiddish Culture Festival on campus. Photo: Patrick Montero

As one of three newly appointed Visual, Cultural, Arts, and Media faculty fellows, Assistant Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures Erin Schoneveld will help promote the many opportunities VCAM has to offer.

Read Office Hour in the Fall 2017 issue of Haverford Magazine.

Schoneveld's office contains original copies of a Japanese art journal called White Birch, or Shirakaba in Japanese. They’re part of her current research project, but she also uses them when teaching her seminar “Japanese Modernism Across Media.” Photo: Patrick Montero

Office Hour – Roshan Jain

Assistant Professor of Biology Roshan Jain’s research focuses on how genes control behavior, using zebrafish to ask and answer questions about decision making, learning, and memory.

Read Office Hour in the Special issue of Haverford Magazine.

The system housing Jain's zebrafish automatically tracks water conditions and adjusts them as necessary. It also sends an email if something goes wrong. Photo: Cole Sansom '19.
