Eniola Ajao '21
Eniola is an intended double major in sociology and economics from Abuja, Nigeria. She went to high school in Northfield, Massachusetts. Outside of the Hurford Center, Eniola spends her time journaling, traveling, making art and engaging in other activities that allow her to appreciate the beauty of this world. She enjoys watching television and hopes to someday write and produce her own hit television show. She looks forward to seeing how her work at the Hurford Center can make a difference at Haverford and foster more student engagement in the arts.
Noorie Chowdhury '21
Noorie is a first year from Mumbai, India. Although undecided about her major, she enjoys experimenting with the social and brain sciences, arts, and humanities and aspires to one day secure a career in social work/entrepreneurship. She’s always looking to go to any kind of performance/discussion events on campus and in Philly! In her free time, she likes to engage in great conversations, read and write poetry, or watch a good movie. She’s really excited to be a new worker at the Hurford Center, a space so full of inspiring ideas and opportunities!
James Gisele '19
James is a junior double majoring in physics at Haverford and English at Bryn Mawr. They hail from Canby, Oregon. They help manage social media, publicity, and Crosslisted, an event series showcasing amazing work being done within the Haverford community. In addition to working at the Hurford Center, James sings in the bi-college Chamber Singers, dances on the pole dancing team, and lives in the College’s newest dorm, Queer House. They spend entirely too much time watching Buffy, reading critical theory, and admiring snakes.
Anna Mehta '18
Anna Mehta is an English major and Linguistics minor in her fourth year at Haverford College. She is from Auburn, Alabama and enjoys acting with Spotlight Theatre Company and dancing with the Bi-Co Folk Club. If she’s not otherwise engaged on campus, you might find her pretending to do homework with friends or in Magill, her second home. Anna plans to pursue a career in editing after graduation and is currently the editor for the Center's De-Centered blog.
Eli Baden-Lasar '21
Eli is a freshman from Oakland, California. His interests are art history and photography, though he loves to experiment with other mediums such as linocut and collage. Eli also enjoys modern dance, salsa, or any other form of boogying down. In his free time, Eli likes to hike through the picturesque Berkeley hills, visit museums, and try new foods—most recently walnut puree in Hungary. He is thrilled to join the Hurford Center community and partake in its very exciting initiatives!
MacKenzie Somers '20
MacKenzie is a sophomore intending to major in history of art and museum studies at Bryn Mawr. She grew up in Virginia where she has spent time working with museums, galleries and nonprofits aiming to create accessible creative spaces for Hampton Road’s diverse community. Brew Club and The Review keep her busy on campus, and on the weekends she volunteers with The Common Room, a Philadelphia gallery and community space exhibiting the work of womxn and non-binary artists.
Esme Trontz '18
Esme Trontz is a senior history of art major (at BMC) from Brooklyn, NY. She loves public art, old buildings, and Philadelphia. Her favorite part of working at the Hurford Center is working with Stephanie Bursese, the Program Manager of the Philadelphia Area Creative Collaboratives, which is an awesome new program that combines Haverford classroom education with hands-on experiences in Philly nonprofits. If you can't find Esme on campus, she's probably in South Philly.
