Julia Coletti ’21
Julia Coletti is a junior at Haverford majoring in Political Science and minoring in Visual Studies with a concentration in Peace, Justice and Human Rights. She can often be found in VCAM designing posters for the Hurford Center, lugging around too much camera gear, or spending long nights in the editing suite. On campus, she is a member of the varsity track and field team, writes for the Bi-Co news, and is a Hurford Center Doculab Fellow finishing up a documentary project from this past summer.
Noorie Chowdhury '21
Noorie is a junior from Mumbai, India, majoring in philosophy, politics and economics. This is her third year working at HCAH! Her hobbies include engaging in social work, (closet) writing, finding hidden hangout spots in Philly, and going to as many of HCAH’s events as she can squeeze in. She serves as Co-Vice President of Student’s Council and as a board-member of the International Student’s Center. If you ever need an overenthusiastic, spontaneous travel/rant buddy, go find her!
Shayleah Jenkins ’22
Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Shayleah is a sophomore expecting to major in English and minor in Spanish. She is a Questbridge and Chesick scholar and enjoys exploring the east coast, though she still thinks the west coast is better. When she graduates, she wants to own a bull terrier, a raccoon, and drive a mini cooper. On campus, she can be found postering for the Hurford Center or anywhere where there is free food. This will be her second year working for the Center.
Michael McCarthy ‘23
Michael is a freshman from Braintree, MA and intends to major in English with a concentration in creative writing and a minor in Philosophy. He has been involved writing clubs, poetry slams, and other literary events since high school and hopes to extend and expand these interests at the Hurford Center. Outside of the Hurford Center, he can usually be found rowing on the crew team, working on a short story, or reading whatever he can get his hands on. If ever you want to spend the whole afternoon talking about books and writing, he’s your man.
Eleanor Morgan ’20
Eleanor is a senior majoring in Creative Writing at Bryn Mawr. She is from New Haven, Connecticut, where her dog Maisie and cat Elsie reside. Her main interests are poetry, art history, and looking at the sky. Outside of the Hurford Center, she is the co-editor-in-chief of Milkweed Literary Magazine and co-head of the Haverford concert series, FUCS. Her favorite documentary is “Catwalk: Tales From the Cat Show Orbit.”
Kennedy Mutai ’23
Kennedy Mutai, from Nakuru, Kenya, is a freshman looking forward to majoring in computer science and fine arts. He is curious about learning arts and computer science and combining the two to produce something cool. When he is not working in VCAM or in the Computer Lab coding, he will be out in the trails for practice with the Cross Country team. He is an outgoing person ready to chit chat about almost anything. Ooh and again he is super friendly!!
MacK Somers ’20
MacK Somers is a senior and a history of art major with a minor in Museum Studies. You might find her darting between Bryn Mawr and Haverford on her sleek green Townie bicycle, swiping students into the Dining Center, or obsessively unpinning posters for events-gone-by. Her favorite artist is Laurie Anderson and her favorite musician is Laurie Anderson as well. She serves as a co-head of the James House Board, Officer of the Arts on Students’ Council, and Programming Assistant with Bryn Mawr Special Collections. She’s always eager to chat about the creative community at Haverford and how it could be stronger.
Cathy Zhu ’23
Cathy Zhu is a freshman from New York City, planning to major in economics and psychology. Her favorite place on campus is the VCAM because it’s where she and her friends do homework, watch movies, and cook dinner together. She recently joined Bi-Co’s Pulso Latino and Haverford’s Step Team and is excited to continue learning new things on campus. She loves horror movies, so feel free to recommend some of your favorites to her!
