The closing event in this inaugural series will feature Because of the War, a documentary that centers on several women peacemakers in Liberia who are now Philadelphia residents. We'll learn more about some of Philadelphia's African and Caribbean diasporic communities through The African Family Health Organization and engagement with several of the women featured in the film. Part of the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship's Migration Film Series.

Leaves may steal the show during the warmer months, but during the winter bark, berries, and witch hazel blooms take the stage. The Arboretum Director will take you on a tour focusing on shrubs with winter interest, including our many varieties of witch hazel. Wear good walking shoes, dress for the weather, and meet the tour in front of the Facilities Management Building. In the case of inclement weather this walk will be moved to Friday, February 28 from 1–2:00 p.m. Registration is required for this event. Lorelei is an all-professional vocal ensemble, comprising nine women whose expertise ranges from early to contemporary repertoire. Their a cappella program “Without Walls” presents music by Perotin, Sungi Hong, David Lang, Jessica Meyer, Hildegard von Bingen, and a traditional arrangement of "Wayfaring Stranger." Ticket prices are $20 (adult), $15 (senior), $10 (student) $5 (child age 7-17), and free to the tri-college community. Tickets can be purchased in advance through Brown Paper Tickets.
