Asali Solomon is the Bertrand K. Wilbur Endowed Chair in the Humanities, professor of English, and director of Creative Writing at Haverford College. She received a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MFA in Fiction at the University of Iowa. Asali completed her undergraduate studies at Barnard College.

The Bertrand K. Wilbur Endowed Chair in the Humanities was established by Clark Maxfield '63 in honor of his grandfather.
